Enhancing productivity and quality of machining process with effective coolant management system
Coimbatore July 2017: BECHEM India recently conducted a technical seminar titled “Improve profitability, safety and reliability with BECHEM Avantin cutting fluids” aimed at the metal working and allied industry.
Addressing the audience of about 120 participants, Mr. Harry Hofmann, Head Forming Technology and Metal Working, BECHEM GMBH, elaborated on the role of coolant, importance of lubrication and cooling and various possible scenarios encountered during the machining process.
He impressed upon the audience the need to study the critical parameters of the machining operation, material property, manitenance practices and work environment in detail before arriving at the right cutting fluid to realize the best result.
Mr. Harry Hofmann said “the objective of these forums is to empower customers by educating them on technicalities and characteristics of cutting fluids thereby allowing them to derive more value from a consumable category that is traditionally viewed as a sundry cost”
Mr. Vijay Nilatkar, National Sales Manager, Metal Working Fluids, BECHEM India, who was also present during the seminar, spoke about the Avanting range of high performance synthetic and semi synthetic range of cutting fluids from BECHEM. He opined “the metal cutting fluids market that was dominated by conventional mineral oil based fluids is witnessing a change with synthetic and semi synthetic range of fluids proving their superior performance. The industry does not view the cutting fluid as a mere consumable anymore but as a productivity catalyst with ability to enhance tool life and realize savings in terms of consumption”.
The two hour long seminar with a full house saw active participation from 120 participants representing 45 companies from the departments of Maintenance, Production and Research & Development.
